Hi all,
Am thinking of getting a chilling mechanism for my 1.5ft tank. Read that my only option is iceprobe. Does anyone know where I can get this in Singapore?

Think you might have to try ebay.

peltier chips works ok only for nano tanks i think but its not very efficient option, its very wattage consuming. iceprobe works only for nano or 1ft tank. anything more you may find that the temperature does not go down or it will keep running like crazy. the iceprobe is not cheap and you will have to buy a seperate thermostat so the total cost will add up to the price of a 1/15hp or 1/10hp chiller or more. Might be good to consider getting a chiller with compressor and refrigerant, if you are likely to upgrade in future (which i did from a nano > 2ft > currently custom 3ft) a 1/10hp chiller will be alot more cost and performance effective can always look out for second hand ones if budget is one of your constraints.

i would suggest a 1/10hp chiller it only cost 200 odd and can easily be resold should u want to move on, of course noting beats the accomplishment of building one urself
